Statewide luxury vinyl plank & tile

Luxury Vinyl Plank & Tile Installation, done the Maryland way

Luxury vinyl plank and luxury vinyl tile are the same 100% waterproof material in two looks, and we install both — often in the same house. Below grade across Fulton and Silver Spring, rigid-core LVP is the honest answer for basements and rec rooms where solid wood was never an option, especially over the damp slabs Maryland clay produces.

Because floor prep is the whole job, a crew that levels floors for hardwood every week brings that same standard to vinyl — LVP fails at bad subfloors, not at the material. It also keeps the advice straight: on the main living levels of Bethesda and Potomac, resale still favors real hardwood, and we'll say so rather than sell you what's on the truck. We recommend by room, not by margin.

Why one local crew

The person who measures your floor is the person who quotes it

We're a flooring crew, not a franchise. Every quote is fixed and honored for 60 days, with no day-two "we found something" surcharges unless you approve them in writing first. We've been laying, sanding, and rescuing Maryland floors since 2009, and most of our work now comes from referrals inside the same neighborhoods — the only marketing metric we really trust.

Maryland vinyl plank & tile questions, answered

How much does luxury vinyl plank installation cost in Maryland?

Most Maryland LVP installs land between $4.50 and $8 per square foot installed; LVT runs about $5-$10 depending on format and whether you want real grout lines. A typical 600 sq ft basement runs roughly $3,000-$4,500 all-in, including subfloor prep. We quote fixed after a free measure.

What's the difference between LVP and LVT?

They're the same 100% waterproof material in different looks. LVP mimics wood planks and suits basements, living areas, and whole-level installs; LVT mimics stone or ceramic tile and shines in kitchens, baths, laundries, and mudrooms — with groutable LVT if you want real grout lines. Many projects use both in coordinated colors.

Is luxury vinyl plank really waterproof, even in a basement?

The planks themselves are 100% waterproof, which is why rigid-core LVP is our default recommendation below grade. The honest caveat: water can still travel beneath a floated floor to the walls, so vinyl isn't a substitute for fixing drainage or a failing sump. We check slab moisture before installing.

Should I put vinyl or hardwood in my home?

Depends on the room, and we install both, so the advice is straight. Below grade, over problem slabs, and in rentals or wet rooms, vinyl wins on physics and price. On main living levels, Maryland resale usually favors real hardwood. We regularly do both in one home — hardwood up, LVP down.

Can luxury vinyl go over an existing floor or concrete slab?

Over concrete, yes — floated rigid-core LVP is ideal on a flat, moisture-tested slab. Over an existing floor it depends on condition and height; we assess flatness first, because vinyl shows every ridge underneath. Any leveling needed is in the quote from day one.
